Let us assume the amount of carrots bought by Glen = x pounds Also Let us assume the amount of firecrackers bought by Glen = y pounds Then x + y = 2.3 x = 2.3 - y Also  2.10x + 2.90y = 6.03 Now putting the value of x from the first equation in the second equation, we get 2.10(2.3 - y) + 2.90y = 6.03 4.83 - 2.10y + 2.90y = 6.03 0.8y = 6.03 - 4.83 0.8y = 1.2 y = 1.2/0.8    = 1.5 Now putting the value of y = 1.5 in the first equation we get x = 2.3 - y    = 2.3 - 1.5    = 0.8 1.5 pounds of carrot ; 0.8 pounds of crackers. Then the correct option among all the options given in the question is option "d".
