The Scientific Revolution played an important role in the Age of Enlightenment. During this period, ideas were now being questioned. Science now a played a central role in when it came to discussions and ideas. Many thinkers of the period were men of science who now advocated free speech and thought. Empiricism and rational thought was now embodied this age as well as the ideals of virtue and progress. Scientific societies and academies became centers of research and development and Science was now incorporated in every field of studies.
