Braking distance is affected by brakes, tires, road surface and speed. The more efficient brakes would have a smaller braking distance. The rough the tires, the easier it is to stop the car. Same is the case for road surface, as a rugged and uneven road offers greater resistance to motion and thus smaller braking distance. Higher the speed, more the braking distance as it would take longer to stop.
